HKG -> BKK

HKG -> BKK

Ok from this point on I have found a better way of blogging. I’m going to try and keep my opinions/commentary to myself unless they start serving the good coffee again!

Since I was about ½ an hour WALK AWAY FROM MY GATE I decided I had better leave early. This little venture out into the wild brought many great photo’s and inquisitive features. This is the first!

Around EVERY escalator at the airport they have these posts (they look like fences to keep people who are larger width wiser than the distance between the poles from using the escalators) around the moving stairs! I contemplated whether or not I would fit between the poles after eating for the past 24 hours. I decided I wouldn’t even risk the embarrassment I’ll use the elevators!

Random photo’s of the airport;

And I’m sure you’ll all enjoy this one! Because I SURE DID!!!

I arrived at my gate to see my plane just sitting there. Like doing nothing but sit there. Uhm Do something I said.

Ok now on this leg there is no first class so I had to suffer in Business class. At first glance the Business cabin is very roomy. So are the seat’s. and along with the Seats comes the 6 flight attendants that served roughly about 60 persons. And Yes at this point it was 8:55AM take off time, however we were delayed 45 minutes. Back home it was around 5:55 PM.

Le Menu for Breakfast, however I was craving Dinner!!!!!

Oh did I mention we havn’t even taken off yet? When we did take off this is what it looked like out my window:

HONG KONG DISNEY!!!!!

This trip was quite interesting. As you can see the weather was much like the South East as we thought. HOT, HUMID, and Muggy and CRAPPY! It was bumpy. They started meal service and got to the row in front of me serving coffee and juice. As she was transitioning to my seat the captain turned on the Fasten Seatbelt sign. Apparently this mean “DO NOT SERVE HOT BEVEREDGES”. UHG Can I have it COLD PLEASE!!!!

Oh Now down on energy to do anything I just sat waiting for energy (i.e. food) I ordered the fruit and the omelet from the menu. And I’m still waiting for the Coffee. No not THAT coffee, Real coffee. I have literally gained like 100lb’s eating all of this food on the airplanes while being mostly stationary. They need like elliptical or Treadmills on the airplanes. I’m busting out of all my shirts. I’m not use to not buying at least a drink at an airport while traveling. Since I got out of the car in Seattle I have NOT spent any money what so ever. Which is Quite amazing for me. Oh back on topic. So yeah Breakfast finally came!

I was trying to figure out why they put rocks on my Breakfast tray. I mean aren’t rocks unsanitary? But a closer look revealed they were salt and pepper shakers! They were cute! So they get their own photo!

As I was lusting after the salt and pepper shakers and contemplating whether I was going to steal them, I almost lost my opportunity for the coffee. It arrived. It was devoured and refilled quickly.

It really wasn’t that good but I needed Coffee!

Ok so while I’m eating breakfast I looked out the window and saw the reason why I came down here!

Normally I don’t get the opportunity to chow down on BREAKFAST, look out the window and see beautiful Blue oceans, and notice land approaching. I questioned what country that was. Mr. TV monitor in the airplane explains to us that we are approaching Vietnam.

I’m having Breakfast 36,000 feet in the air over Vietnam! How uhm… WEIRD!

Travel update;

I think my blogging is ridiculous. I’m sitting here thinking to myself that I’m on a plane with hundreds of strangers traveling ½ way around the world by myself. What was I thinking? This is crazy. But the excitement in it all is absolutely fantastic. You cannot excite an ADD kid with less than constantly new and chancing scenery, situations, procedures, and stuff. My mind is all a buzz. However now I’m thinking; what if I want to go back home really quick? I CANT! I’m stuck over here. Because it’s another long agonizing 24+ hours of traveling to get back. This is ridiculous! But fun at the same time! Sure beats being back in the office!

The arrival into Bangkok wasn’t anything too exciting. This will be my fourth airport I have been at in the past 24 hours. I filled out my customs / visa thingy form and proceeded to head off the airplane to the good ole Thailand Border greeters!

Ok so the Thai ‘Airport is laid out CRAZY! I got into the wrong immigration line. I got into the “Zipity Quick line”. And while #5 in the line, this lady opened up another “Super Fast Zipity Quick line” looked at me and said come over here. While I was there she said “you got in the wrong line. You should have gone to that super long, long long long line over there. But I’ll check you in this time. Next time go over there.” OMG I was so grateful!

Got my luggage and bought a super expensive cab ride to the hotel. On the way into the hotel, I about threw up. This place.. .Bangkok is disgusting! It’s gross, dirty, run down… well think of the most disgusting area of where you live and then imagine it a billion times worse.
