This morning started with me arising to the sunshine bright and early at 8:00am. I hopped online to do a bit of chatting with a few people and then ran over to Starbucks to get my morning Coffee! While running through the lobby I noticed an increase of security. My first thought was oh great, what happened today? Should I go back up to my room and hibernate? comes to find out all it is, is a meeting of "Delegates". oh joy that makes my day. A reason to bomb our hotel!
I really didn't plan on getting food at Starbucks! Just coffee. But the Ham and Cheese Ciabatta is a magnet for a fat boy!
Back in my room a call to American Airlines was made to see if i could get my flight to Tokyo changed to an earlier flight. We had been trying all week long to change this flight. We have hot had good luck until today. My 9:30pm flight has now been changed to an arrival time of 4:30pm. This is a happy time for me as the last train from Nartia left at 10:15pm. 45 minutes to disembark, clear immigrations and customs and counting on the plane to be on time? HA good luck. So at least now I'll be arriving 30 minutes after the rest of my party does.

Coffee is a very important part of an ADD kid's life! I love my coffee!
So it's off to the mall to go shopping. MBK mall that is. This is the big mall with Black Market itmes. It's basically where I bought all of the gifts. Now this mall is a huge multiple story mall that caters to mostly Black Market dealers. everything in this mall is HOT, Stolen, or not real. It is being sold as knockoffs, or after being stolen etc. Mind you at very CHEAP prices. of course I bought some crap. but it's quite interesting to see some Ipad or Iphones at the same US prices but the item is a fake.

Guess where I went for Lunch? Just because I was in the need for some REGULAR American food. The Fat kid needed some fat!

While traversing back to the hotel we discovered upon some art work that was set up along the walk.

I scheduled today to be my sit by the pool and do nothing but drink day. However when I got up to the pool it was raining. ok when I say raining, I mean dumping a billion gallons of water down in 5 gallon bucket type of rain. this has happened to us every single day while we have been here. However I stayed, stood under the umbrella and started taking photo's as promised.

After a while I ordered a drink and laid on the chair in the rain under the umbrella by the pool. a few minutes later the sun attempted to come out, the rain stopped (yes in that order) and I enjoyed my drink......(s) That would be 2. Maybe 3. I don't remember. . oh and I swam a little. and chatted with friends. this routine went on for quite a while!

Now late in the evening we decided to go for a walk and visit the not so glamorous side of Bangkok. Why did we want to do this? I have no clue. I just went along for the walk. We stopped here and there and totally enjoyed our journey's. Not exactly sure where we went but we walked past a few weird and unusual situations. I did not take pictures of them all as I was afraid to take out my camera but here are a few;

After getting lost we decided to hire a Tuk Tuk driver to drive us to our dinner restaurant. The Tuk Tuk was one of the best things we did here. It was totally fun riding in this Death Trap!

Of course again i had Fried Rice with Chicken. Yummy! and a few Vodka Cranberry's! erm like 3 i think.

After dinner we took another Tuk Tuk ride to the Banyan Tree Hotel so that we could FINALLY get our drink on at Vertigo the rooftop bar. Now keep in mind the Banyan Tree Hotel is like a 4 or 5 star hotel and we are arriving in a "go cart". The doormen were NOT impressed!

Pretty soon we were all drunk and had to go back to the hotel to pack. at 11:40PM. Because we had to be up at 4:00AM to head for the airport. We are going to Tokyo tomorrow! oh wooty!
Bangkok was nice. it was NOT relaxing as I had hoped. next time I come to Thailand i'm going to one of the more luxurious resorts Phuket or Koh Somui. This was quite the experience. From the people to the city, to the things to do.
